A Swine Flu Update

Winter will be coming to a close soon. The thick jackets and gloves will once again be stored away in the closet, and sleds will merely function as a decoration. The swine flu is slowly fading away from public panic along with it. But this does not mean we should all sit back and relax; on the contrary, germs are still present everywhere we are and in everything we do. We still need to put out an effort to take care of our bodies and ward off illnesses, no matter what they are, and hand sanitizers, can help.

Take airport bathrooms, for instance. This is not to say that they are filthy, soiled places to be avoided at all costs, but keep in mind that a lot of people use it during the day. Anybody in charge of cleaning would never be able to catch up to that no matter what they tried. You’re also going to find an array of germs from all over the country and the world in places such as these.

And what about schools? Children and young adults are famous for their ability to spread germs. Simply from sharing the same pencil or toy, a sickness could easily be spread from one student to another. They also are not usually cautious enough to cover their nose when sneezing or take care that they are clean. If a child gets sick, chances are it’s something they caught while at school.

When talking about the workplace, this is another germ breeding ground. Say you work at a bank, for instance. Chances are you will be handling a lot of money. Money that has been in places you could never guess, touching things you’ve never seen. Without hand sanitizer there could be a lot of problems.

Hospitals especially need to be careful about spreading germs. The staff of doctors and nurses is not going to want anything picked up in the operating room making its way into the waiting room and vice verse, that’s for certain.

Remember that just because it may not be flu season, it does not mean loosening your guard. Take care of yourself and your family and frequently apply hand sanitizer while out and about. In taking these steps, you can counter any affliction.
